The bewildering subjectivity of Literature in Secondary school and Junior College is a source of frustration for many students. However, what many students don’t realise is that Literature, like any other subject, does have its own set of conventions and expectations. Writing a sophisticated literary analysis requires literary sensitivity to the text, a structural approach to your analysis, and precisely deployed vocabulary to construct your argument.

Academia’s Literature Department produces only the highest quality lessons, an unparalleled experience that is semi-private and bespoke, crafted to the needs of each individual student. Representing a meeting of minds between teacher and student, our Literature sessions are designed to nourish and empower students to build a keen literary lens. Lessons are immaculately tailored to fit your needs, as well as your school’s and MOE’s requirements. You will be trained to develop your own literary lens and build advanced analytical skills with our Literature experts who will provide the sophisticated theoretical framework needed to independently critique and deeply analyse texts, using the widest range of literary devices and university-level critical theory.

Each lesson is fortified with bespoke Literature Content Notes and Exemplary Essays, all curated and tailored for you individually. Each week, you will be experiencing a world-class literary education where you are challenged to understand the wider historical, social, cultural, economic and psychological contexts each text is situated within. You will also be exposed to critical theory — something that is typically only introduced at the tertiary level — that is delivered and taught at your levels of personal understanding and relevance. These include psychoanalysis, Marxist criticism, feminist theory and new historicism to name a few. Extra reading materials from scholarly journals and sites are also provided whenever applicable.
