About a year ago, at the heart of the Tanglin Community Centre, a remarkable alliance began to take root. The Tanglin Collective, formed by Academia, Genius Plus Academy, and Twig Learning Center, brings together Singapore’s most renowned educators across disciplines to reimagine what transformative education can look like. Each partner within the Collective is driven by a shared vision: to nurture students into confident, articulate, and globally-minded individuals through rigorous, inspired, and enchanting learning experiences.

In celebration of this collaborative spirit, and for the first time ever, Academia is proud to introduce a referral programme carefully designed to uphold the standards of excellence our community expects. Introducing the Tanglin Collective Referral Privilege, a cross-centre initiative that combines the referral programmes of Genius Plus Academy and Twig Learning Center with a new initiative from Academia.

How it works:

As an Academia student, when you refer a student to any member institution within the Tanglin Collective (including Academia itself), and they enroll for a full academic term, both you and your referred friend will receive a credit to your respective term fees. Likewise, if you’re a student at any Collective partner, you can now refer friends to Academia and unlock class credits. 

This is more than a referral programme; it’s a shared recognition of quality. It marks a new chapter for us — one built on shared values, mutual trust, and a commitment to academic growth.

What are the referral credits for each partner?

• Academia: A one lesson credit for both the referrer and referee
• Genius Plus Academy: A $100 credit for both the referrer and referee
• Twig Learning Center: A $50 credit for both the referrer and referee

Who is eligible to refer someone?
Any currently enrolled student at Academia, Genius Plus Academy, or Twig Learning Center may refer a friend to any of the participating centres.

Who qualifies as a referred student?
A referred student must be a new enrollee – someone who has not previously been registered at the centre they are being referred to.

Can I refer more than one friend?
Yes! You can refer multiple friends, and you’ll receive a credit for each successful enrollment. There is no cap on the number of referrals.

Can my sibling count as a referral?
Yes, as long as your sibling is a new enrollee and you’re already a registered student at one of the participating centres.

Can I refer myself to a collective partner?
Yes – it sounds a bit strange, but you’ll receive credits as both a referee and a referrer.

Do the referred students have to join the same level or subject?
No. Students can join any level or programme offered by the centre they’re referred to, as long as they eventually commit to a full academic term.

Can I refer someone to a special arrangement, holiday programmes?
No – our referral privilege only applies to our standard term programmes, not special arrangements nor holiday programmes.

Does the referral privilege apply for all tiers?
Due to the nature of the Director tier classes, they are not part of this referral programme. The referral programme applies to all other tiers.

When is the credit applied?
The credit is applied to the invoice of the first full academic term of the referred student, and concurrently to the invoice of the referee for the same term.
